Days 8 and 9: The puppies are growing and growing. About all they do is wiggle, squirm, squeak, eat, sleep, and poop. Miney takes care of the poop and of cleaning the puppies.
Below is a montage of photos of the puppies on Day 9. |
 |
Day 10: Here are two photos of what it typically looks like when Miney gets into the whelping box.
She is greeted with squeaks and squirms and the puppies all wriggle their way over to her as quickly as they can and then latch on for a meal.

Day 11: The puppies are getting even bigger, just in a few days.
Day 12: Miney is spending more and more time out of the whelping box. I think she's getting a little tired of being with the puppies all day and night, Only problem is, she likes to go take a nap in Sirius' bed, which infuriates him and makes him start barking at her to get out. But she doesn't pay any attention to him and continues her nap. |

Day 13: Wonder of wonders! Puppies usually open their eyes around day 14, and we fully expected the first one to open his eyes to be the big male (whom I've nicknamed "Hoss."). But today both the girls started opening their eyes and his were still shut tight. On the left is Puppy #3, the last to be born, showing her eyes beginning to open. At first their eyes are blue and they gradually turn to brown. I call this puppy "Sarah." On the right is Puppy #2, the one who had trouble getting going when she was first born. I call her "Peanut."
|
Day 14: Miney is still hogging Sirius' bed whenever she's not with the puppies, and the three puppies are getting bigger and stronger. The male still hasn't opened his eyes yet. You can see Sarah on the left with her eyes open.

Now Standing at Stud:
The Cutest, Tiniest Mini-Yorkie
You'll Ever See
Sirius Black is a black and tan, AKC registered Yorkshire Terrier who weighs only two pounds.
He has a teddy bear face, a wonderful disposition, and his puppies are adorable. All his babies are like little chips off the block. They are cute and personable.
He will be standing at stud in the Nashville, TN and Kansas City, MO area.
Two of his puppies are shown at the top of this page and there are photos of others on the mini-yorkie home page.
His puppies are cute, cuddly balls of fun and they tend to be small like he is.
